Manipal

The Best Things In Life Are Free

WHO ARE WE?

Linux Users' Group (a.k.a. LUG), Manipal is a conglomeration of individuals who got together because of one common love: the Linux operating system. However, we soon discovered that we had much more in common than Linux: the GNU and Free Software ideals, strong views about the privacy of the individual, and a desire to Change the World.

WHAT WE DO?

We share our knowledge about GNU/LINUX and other FOSS softwares with everyone through events and workshops. Large number of projects used in MIT are made by LUG Manipal group members (AutoBudder, Teachers Evaluation System, Mitbuzz etc.). Our alumni are active contributor to the world of open source and we also have the highest selection in GSoC from Manipal

HOW TO JOIN?

We have no membership fee or recruitment drive. LUG Manipal is a group and everyone who contributes is a member.Their are no posts or heads among the group (Free as in Freedom). Boasting a very active mailing list with discussions covering a wide-range of matters from technical, installation and configuration help to software copyright ethics and holy wars you can interact with people around you, form communities, work on something
